Background Workshop In Texas

I took a trip to San Marcos, Texas to attend a three day workshop on photographic backgrounds in portraiture. No element in a portrait is more important than the background! Creative use of artistic backgrounds can really separate an average portrait from a really great one. I spent three days fine-tuning my skills on incorporating a wide variety of artistic backgrounds into my studio portraiture. Our studio features a very wide variety of backgrounds available to our clients. It's one our assets that separates us from so many other photographers in our area. I also had the opportunity to have a personal meeting with Dr. Henry Oles who has pioneered the use of creative backgrounds in studio portraiture and has written books on the topics including one tittled "Background Power" that emphasizes the need for professional photographers to make more creative use of backgrounds to differentiate themselves.

In addition to the wide variety of photographic portraits we take in our studio, my use of a variety of different backgrounds in a particular photo session can best be seen in my Communion Portraits. I've put together a special website just to highlight these portraits: http://www.firstcommunionportraits.com . We also have some exciting backgrounds that are great for portraits of young adults at or near high school graduation age.
